Integrating NetWare
and Windows NT
Many things are possible if
you have the right networking company. When NetWare
Client alone isn't enough, we have solutions.
You can have the best of both worlds, a solid
desktop operating system as well as a powerful
network back end. There are several approaches.
A Windows NT domain could be established by adding
a NT Server to your network. If you have a lot
of users this may not be the best solution. You
could also create a single generic NT account
for all users and and the Auto Admin Logon option
could be set in the registry, which also has a
security disadvantage. With Novell 4.11 we can
have workstation manager dynamically create user
accounts on each workstation as needed, and it
can remove the account from the workstation after
a user logs out if you want. This option also
works with roaming profiles, and a policy can
be made to restrict access to resources on the
workstations. In addition the emergence of Z.E.N.
Works (Zero Effort Networks) has made the job
of integrating NT easier. Z.E.N. Works adds additional
features to the NWAdmin, can lock down a workstation
similar to the policy editor, but all inside of
NDS, keeping your users from messing with system
files on the workstation.
